Republican National Committee and the Indiana Republican Party Announce D2H Victory Campaign
WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced Indiana’s D2H Victory campaign to establish the grassroots political operation to ensure Republican candidates are successful in November. In partnership with The Indiana Republican Party (IN GOP), the RNC is providing funding and resources to build the infrastructure to support Republican candidates.
The RNC will devote the resources necessary to enhance the IN GOP’s ability to effectively reach Republican voters and tap into the state’s grassroots volunteer base. This investment in Republican state parties is a critical part of the RNC’s Delaware to Hawaii (“D2H”) strategy to compete aggressively in all fifty states.
“The liberal lineup of Brad Ellsworth, Joe Donnelly, Baron Hill and Trent Van Haaften reads as more of a who’s-who of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s most trusted lap-dogs and the RNC is excited to be partnering with the IN GOP to turn these seats red,” said RNC Chairman Michael Steele. “The accomplishments of the Republican Party start with energized Hoosiers who go door-to-door, make phone calls, attend events, and reach out to Republican voters in their own communities and neighborhoods. Republicans across the great state of Indiana are sending a clear message to Ellsworth, Donnelly, Hill, Van Haaften and Indiana Democrats that it’s time to change the tax, borrow and spend policies of President Obama that are killing our economy.”
“We are thrilled that Chairman Steele and the RNC are investing in Indiana with these vital resources as we move closer to election day. These efforts and the hard work of countless volunteers from now through November will boost Sen. Coats and our Republican candidates across the state,” said Murray Clark, Chairman of the IN GOP. “This cutting-edge political operation will help capture the overwhelming support Republicans are seeing day-in and day-out. It will also harness the displeasure Hoosiers are voicing with the Obama-Ellsworth big government agenda of Democrats in Washington and turn that dissent into votes for Republican candidates who will get our economy and country back on the right track. ”
In 2009, Republicans made 5.8 million voter contacts and put in 165,715 volunteer hours, resulting in victories across the country. In total, last year Republicans won 26 of 37 special elections and played a major role in more than 30 successful races. The RNC is building on this success with strategic investments in key states and districts that will help deliver Republican victories in November.

STATEMENT FROM RNC CHAIRMAN MICHAEL STEELE ON THE DISCLOSE ACT
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“Today was a rebuke to Congressional Democrats who need to put aside their electoral self-interest and start addressing our struggling economy which continues to be the primary concern among American voters. Democrats have wasted the past 19 months pursuing reckless spending and government takeovers only to discover their liberal agenda has done nothing to relieve our nation from nearly double-digit unemployment. Now is the time to join Republicans in pursuing pro-growth economic policies, that will create jobs, rather than attempting to stack the deck with more campaign finance regulations that will further empower Big Labor at the expense of every American’s right to the First Amendment. With only three months left until the fall elections and all signs pointing to continued high unemployment for the foreseeable future, Democrats are quickly running out of time to put the people’s business first and get Americans back to work.”

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES “NOVEMBER STARTS NOW” WEBSITE
WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) released a new web page today to highlight President Obama’s mismanagement of the economy, reckless growth of government, and failure to deliver results for the American people. The website, entitled “November Starts Now” can be viewed here: http://www.novemberstartsnow.com/
“Barack Obama’s reckless spending and unchecked growth of government has failed to create real jobs for the American people and get our economy back on track. Instead of recognizing that his policies are only creating more economic uncertainty with high unemployment and record national debt, Barack Obama continues to force through his big-government agenda against the will of the people. It is clear that the $862 billion stimulus package has failed to create the jobs that the White House promised, and now the Obama administration is pushing for job-killing tax increases on small businesses all across the country. Barack Obama has lost credibility on the economy and voters are going to send a clear message in November that it’s time to change course by electing Republicans and taking back the House.” – RNC Chairman Michael Steele

In partnership with the Idaho Republican Party, the RNC is providing funding and resources to build the in-state GOP structure to support Republican leaders.

STATEMENT FROM RNC CHAIRMAN MICHAEL STEELE ON PRESIDENT OBAMA’S SIGNING OF FINREG BILL
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“As the White House scrambles to convince skeptical Americans that he is doing everything he can to lower unemployment, President Obama has signed into law a 2,300 page behemoth that will saddle the business community with innumerable unintended consequences, tighter credit, and countless job-killing regulations. Cast from the same mold as the failed stimulus bill and the 2.5 trillion dollar government takeover of healthcare, President Obama’s latest foray into government control of the private economy unnecessarily punishes Main Street and fails to address the root causes of the kind of crisis it was designed to prevent in the first place.”
